Postcards from India
Festival visitors are invited to step inside the Mela Zen Garden and be transported to India, the land of gods and myths, spices and temples, gurus, dreams and healing. In contrast, India is also a modern land of railways, call centres, IT and industry. Set to the backdrop of a soundtrack of life in India, postcards reflect the stories and memories relayed by members of the Indian communities in the North and South of Ireland. Their traditions and customs, memories and wishes for their cultural livelihoods in Ireland and families and friends back in India. Relax with this sound installation Postcards from India created by Belfast based artist Fiona Larkin – a unique experience of India, Indian people in Ireland, celebrations, music, faith, and home.
