Travel to the four corners of the world at the Festival’s Global Village. Experience the hubbub of accents, fabrics, sights and scents as traders from far and wide congregate to bring you their very own slice of culture.
Tap out a tune on a drum from Kenya, dance to the sound of the singing bowls from Tibet or try on some vintage jewels from Italy. Visitors too can feast themselves throughout the day with French pastries for breakfast, some Polish pierogies for lunch and the ultimate falafel for dinner.
This year’s Global Village is relocating to the seafront location of Carlisle Pier. Offering stunning views of Dublin Bay and additional special features ranging from the Mr Whippy Soundsystem and street dance performances with the Zoryanna to the innovative Faith Space sessions.
And for you vinyl junkies – from Samba sounds and desert blues to Latin jazz, soukous and reggae, you’ll find a sonic library of some of the most unusual, indigenous and down right hot and funky world music tunes at the Global Music Store. Staff are on site to offer advise, sound bites and recommendations.
