With its irresistible African rhythms, sunshine melodies and life-affirming lyrics, calypso music is the soundtrack of the Caribbean and Calypso Rose is its undisputed Queen.

Both empress of the stage and ambassador for social and political issues, this Tobagonian singer has ruled the traditionally male arena of calypso and soca for forty years. Releasing over twenty albums, she was crowned Monarch of the spectacular Trinidad and Tobago Carnival and received the International Caribbean Music Lifetime Achievement Award. Considered a national treasure, her sparkling charisma and joie de vivre define her as an exceptional woman, spirited singer and a true people’s diva.

At the glorious age of 70, her uplifting performances of sweet love songs, pounding party tunes and fierce anthems set audiences aflame wherever she goes. A long awaited visit to the dlr Festival of World Cultures and to Irish shores, Calypso Rose’s performance is a must see event.
