To celebrate 10 years of the dlr Festival of World Cultures, the People’s Park will be heaving with carnival performances from around the globe. Bringing you music, food, dance, costume, drumming, circus from Brazil, Africa, India and the Caribbean – the party is on!

CultureMix Arts and the RASPO Steel Orchestra will beat out those Trinidadian carnival grooves alongside Mundo Capoeira’s master movers and Brazilian DJ and don’t miss the one and only Dr Rhumba as he hosts the Carnival Karaoke Tent, where you can dance to the grooviest Latin sounds.

Join the carnival dance and costume-making workshops and watch out for the Trinidadian and Mardis Gras style walkabouts.  After partying your heart out, you can kick back in the Caribbean Chill-Out area for a well-deserved siesta.

Events are free and family focused. Carnival dress essential – it’s not a spectator sport!
