COALITION TO STOP THE USE OF CHILD SOLDIERS
The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers works to prevent the recruitment and use of children as soldiers.

Mission Statement: We are a coalition to stop the use of child soldiers, both girls and boys – to prevent their recruitment and use; to secure their demobilization; and to promote their rehabilitation and reintegration. We work to achieve this through advocacy and public education; research and monitoring; and network development and capacity building.

MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES

Doctors Without Borders
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency medical aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 75 countries.
Each year, MSF doctors, nurses, logistics specialists, water-and-sanitation experts, administrators and other medical and non-medical professionals depart on more than 3000 field assignments. They work alongside more than 25000 locally hired staff to provide medical care.

CAMARA – TECHNOLOGY, EMPOWERING EDUCATION
Camara is an organisation that takes in secondhand computers that have been discarded by Irish organisations and individuals. The computers are then refurbished by Camara and sent to schools and colleges in sub Saharan Africa.
Camara also sends out groups of volunteers to train African teachers in basic computer literacy and more specialised technology areas as well as producing computer training materials and educational multimedia in areas such as HIV/AIDS and gender equality.

drinkaware.ie is a MEAS initiative. MEAS (Mature Enjoyment of Alcohol in Society Limited), a registered charity, was established in 2002 by the principal companies and trade organisations in the drinks industry to promote social responsibility within the industry and moderate consumption by those who choose to drink, in order to reduce alcohol abuse and related harm. MEAS is committed to continuing and expanding its responsible drinking campaigns throughout 2009 and beyond.

FREEMUSE – THE WORLD FORUM ON MUSIC AND CENSORSHIP
is an independent international organisation which advocates freedom of expression for musicians and composers worldwide. FREEMUSE was born of the 1st World Conference on Music and Censorship held in Copenhagen in November 1998. As specified in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression. This right includes the freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media regardless of frontiers.
Tiken Jah Fakoly received the Freemuse Award at the Festival of World Cultures in 2008.
